LLM Program

Hungarian nationals may apply for the program (both full-time and part-time) in the official Hungarian Higher Education Admission procedure through www.felvi.hu. Please visit www.felvi.hu for detailed information about the admission procedure. Applications for the Fall are welcome through www.felvi.hu usually between mid-January and mid-February.

Foreign nationals may apply for the program for September intake until June 15th every year, for February intake until November 15th every year. You should send your application package directly to the University of Debrecen following procedural rules as stated under the following link.

Tuition: 6,500 USD/full program (medical insurance, text books, study materials are included)

PhD Program

Scholarship provided by the Government of Hungary may be available to students under the Balassi Institute’s Scholarship Program or the Stipendium Hungaricum Program. Stipendium Hungaricum publishes calls or proposal in your home country, so please check the website of your ministry of education. Due to the special nature of EU regulations, we may only offer the full-time PhD program to non-EU and EEA-citizens. Tuition fee is USD 6,500 / academic year (2 semesters). The program lasts for 3 years. The costs of health insurance and student card are included in the tuition fee.

What we need for an application

  • Application (available here)
  • Detailed English CV
  • Master degree of law or social sciences (international relations, etc.) and its English transcript
  • 2 recommendation letters from previous professors
  • proposal for a research topic chosen from the ones offered by our doctoral school or a new topic with a detailed description
  • copies of the relevant pages of the passport
  • vaccination report for Hepatitis B, Rose-rash (Rubeola), Mumps (Parotitis epidemica) and Measles (Morbilli)
  • an evidence of payment of USD 150 non-refundable registration fee
  • Deadline for submitting your application: 31 May every year.
