Bio:

Gábor Attila Tóth is Alexander von Humboldt Senior Fellow at the Humboldt University, Berlin and Associate Professor of Constitutional Law and Human Rights at the University of Debrecen. Previously, he gained a visiting fellowship to the New School for Social Research, New York; a DAAD research fellowship to the Humboldt University; an Oxford scholarship from the British Council; and a human rights scholarship from the Helsinki Committee. In 2016-2017 he served as constitutional jurisprudence expert in an EU Project at the Constitutional Court of Moldova. Between 2013 and 2016 he was chair of the Department of Constitutional Law in Debrecen. Between 2013 and 2015 he also worked as an expert for the Freedom House. Between 2000 and 2010 he worked as key adviser to the Constitutional Court of Hungary. In 1994 he was founder of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union. He is founding editor-in-chief of the szuveren.hu, a website of liberal democratic ideas. He is author of numerous articles and eight books, including the edited volumes Constitution for a Disunited Nation (CEU Press, 2013) and Human Rights (Osiris, 2003).
